A Period Wedding…

One of the wonderful aspects of marrying in an historically authentic fashion is that it affords your wedding all the pomp, circumstance, colour and pageantry that a modern wedding may not have.

With many years of experience & research as an historical cosumier, our principal designer Gini will outfit you and your bridal party in the finest tradition of your chosen period, accurate to the last detail. HISTORICAL DESIGN PROCESS The white wedding and many of the wedding customs as we know them today are largely Victorian in origin, so you won't find many white wedding gowns here [unless it's post 1850!]. Prior to this, brides tended to wear the best gown they owned or could afford to have made, which offers the modern bride a broad spectrum of styles from which to choose.

You may already have an idea for your gown - if so, please let us know and Gini will be happy to work with you to produce it. But don't worry if not - Gini is a very capable designer and able to help you focus your thoughts to arrive at a concept, and then to turn it into reality.

Part of the fun of marrying in this way is in knowing that you got the period details right. This means that your wedding will involve plenty of research into areas such as wedding customs, food, music, etiquette, dance etc. for your particular period in time. We are able to assist here as well.
